Senior Hurlers Beaten in League by Kildalkey

Trim 0-13 Kildalkey 3-15

Trim started this Div 1 game brightly and had points from Damo McGee and Brian Dowling on the score board after just four minutes. Kildalkey then leveled matters with points in the eight and tenth minutes. Trim we’re playing well and had two more points on the score board with twelve minutes played. These points came from the stick of David Murtagh. His firs effort was a brilliant piece of skill , a side line cut from the club house side hitting into the town end goals from thirty nine meters out. Joe Canning did this in Wexford park this evening and the Sky commentators and pundits were raving about his level of skill for the next ten minutes. Well this roving reporter will not let this brilliant skillful line ball score go unnoticed. Kildalkey again hit back with two points from the stick of the returning Ducksy Doran . It is great to see Ducksy back hurling after his horrific keen injury that kept him out of action for the last two season. The sides were level again after Ducksy’s brace. Brian Dowling put the home side up by a point after fifteen minutes. Then Kildalkey started to gain the upper hand and scored a vital goal after twenty minutes to leave themselves two points up. Mikie Cullen was starting to fire and hit three unanswered points to put the Reds up by one with twenty three minutes played. Kildalkey again struck points over the bar four in total to put the Village side up by three as half time approached. Mikey Cullen was having none of it and he hit another two more over the black spot in the next sixty seconds. Mikey was becoming unmark-able and Kildalkey management had switched two different players onto to him at this stage. Then disaster struck the team in red when Kildalkey scored their second goal of the first half whistle.

Kildalkey tagged on another two points on the second half but they did also register twelve wides in the final thirty minutes.
