McMorrow’s Goal Sets up B League Victory

Football B League Division 2 Trim v Oldcastle.



Result…..Trim 1-12, Oldcastle 0-5.



This first round tie was played in Trim on Friday night last. Both teams served up some good football and played at a lively pace in very chilly conditions. The home side were clearly the better off the two sides and right from the get-go stamped their authority on the game with 1-7 without reply from Oldcastle. The Trim goal was the defining score of the game. It resulted in a long accurate pass from the middle off the field from Ciaran Joyce that found Conor McMorrow who had found space in behind all of the defenders. He fielded well and cleverly dispatched to the net. Oldcastle got their first point in the sixteenth minute but was quickly cancelled out by a Trim effort a minute later. Both sides traded points in the final ten minutes of the half to go in at half time at Trim 1-8, Oldcastle 0-2.



Oldcastle made a recovery of sorts in the second half and had two unanswered points on the board before Trim woke up from the slumber and hit two points in the eleventh and twelfth minutes. The fourth quarter off the game continued on the same vane with the home side hitting two points to the  visitors one to leave the full time score at Trim 1-12, Oldcastle 0-5.
