Trim’s senior hurlers hosted Rathmoylon last Thursday evening in the third round of the Meath hurling A league. The home side fielded a weakened side due to exam tied players and some injuries but nonetheless they put up a good performance in an entertaining game. The home team were first to score with a point from Shane Ashe but Rathmoylon opened their account immediately afterwards with a goal in the second minute and a point shortly afterwards. Trim were back on target again with two Damien McGee points either side of the tenth minutes but the visitors kept their noses in front with a point in the eleventh. Damien McGee was on target again at the half way mark to leave his side trailing by one but from then to half time Rathmoylon took control hitting seven points with no reply from the Trim lads to leave the score difference at half time at eight points.

On the turnaround the visitors registered first with a point from the throw in but then Trim forced a revival of sorts by hitting four points on the trot to reach the mid half six points the worst. The scores came from James Andrews and three from ace marksman  Damien McGee. Rathmoylon had another scoring spurt just before the twenty minute mark where they hit 1-4 to effectively close out the game. The home side kept plugging away and due to their resilience they clocked up five points in the final ten minutes but the damage was done. The game ended with Rathmoylon ahead by six points.
