Report on intermediate football challenge game – Trim versus Ballivor.

Trim prepared for their intermediate football championship and league campaign with a home challenge game against St Ultans of Bohermeen last saturday evening, under lights. This was the second challenge game in their pre preparation and after a fast and hard hitting encounter they came out resounding winners on a score of 2-13 to 0-7. The first half was a close, hard fought encounter, where the home team just about kept their noses in front and ended the half two points to the better on a scoreline of 0-7 to 0-5.
Trim’s half time talk seemed to have the better effect as they came out on a higher gear and within the first ten minutes of second half they had increased the gap with three well worked points. Both sides swapped three points apiece to keep the score gap at five points entering the final ten minutes. Two fine goals that heralded the return of corner forward Neil Heffernan to the Trim side and two extra points in the dying minutes saw the home side run out winners by twelve points.
