Girls U-13 Football
The Trim girls have had a busy few weeks completing their fixtures in the division 2 Championship. They had to play their final four games over the past few weeks in poor weather and under the floodlights in Trim. Many thanks to Tom Canty and Vicky who helped the girls to get their matches played within the time provided by providing dressing rooms and the floodlit pitch at Trim without which the girls could not have completed their games.
Round 3 (30/09/11)
Trim 1-05 Gael Colmcilles (Kells) 4-04
Gael Colmcilles travelled to Trim on a windy and very wet evening at the end of September and played a hard fought match. The Trim girls were very impressive against a stronger more experienced Kells outfit. However, the score line flattered the visitors in what was a tough competitive match. Karley Leavy and Dervla Fahey were impressive for Trim.
Round 4 (05/10/11)
Trim 5-05 Dunsany 4-05
This fixture with Dunsany was a crucial game for the Trim girls as they had now won two games and lost two games. The result of this game would determine whether the Trim team could remain in contention in this u-13 competition. The last time the teams met the more experienced Dunsany girls ran out easy winners.
Both teams were evenly matched from the start. Matilda Fennell struck a great first half goal and a point along with further points from Aideen Downes and Dervla Fahey to leave a point between the teams at half time with the score standing at 1-4 to 2-2. The girls had a battle ahead of them in the second half if they were to remain in contention in this competition.
With great determination the Trim girls took the game to the opposition. The defence was spearheaded by the talented Kate Dunne and Aoibhe Daly who provided a great supply of ball to the forward line. Sarah Lynch and Dervla Fahey once again added to their impressive scoring tally with a goal each and from the half back line Emer Ferry pushed forward and struck two impressive goals to provide a lead that Dunsany struggled to cope with. All of the Trim girls dug in for the last ten minutes as Dunsany attempted to get the goal they needed. However, Trim recorded an impressive win to keep their season alive. Trim Scorers – Matilda Fennel 1-01, Aideen Downes 0-01, Dervla Fahey 1-02, Sarah Lynch 1-01, Emer Ferry 2-0.

Round 6 (13/10/11)
Trim 7-08 St. Michaels 1-03
This was the last group fixture in this competition. The result of this game would determine the semi-final placing. From the start the Trim girls provided a flawless performance in what was without question the most complete performance by this team to date.
